New Ross Water Treatment Plant in County Wexford is an operational water treatment facility incorporating a range of process and mechanical plant. Allegro Acoustics was commissioned by Coffey Water Limited to assess both environmental and occupational noise associated with the operation of the facility.
Environmental noise monitoring was undertaken at representative locations surrounding the site to quantify operational noise emissions and assess the facility’s contribution to the local acoustic environment. The measured noise environment was assessed with reference to relevant EPA environmental noise guidance, providing a detailed understanding of noise from the operational plant at surrounding locations.
Allegro Acoustics also completed an occupational noise assessment within the facility to evaluate workplace noise levels and identify plant, areas and activities where employees may be exposed to elevated noise during normal operations.
The combined assessments provided Coffey Water with a detailed understanding of both environmental noise emissions and workplace noise conditions at the facility, supporting the effective management of operational noise and employee noise exposure.
