Irish Life Campus HQ

Lower Abbey Street, Dublin 1

rish Life Centre Block 3 is a major commercial office development in Dublin city centre, providing high-quality Grade A office accommodation. The development required a comprehensive acoustic design to control external environmental noise and provide appropriate levels of sound insulation, speech privacy and acoustic comfort throughout the building.

Allegro Acoustics provided acoustic consultancy throughout the project, from concept and detailed design through construction and completion. The acoustic design addressed façade sound insulation, internal walls and floors, meeting room privacy, reverberation control, room acoustics and mechanical services noise. Particular consideration was given to environmental noise from the surrounding road and rail network and its influence on the façade design and internal noise environment.

Working with Urban Solutions and the wider design team, Allegro Acoustics developed acoustic performance criteria for offices, meeting rooms, collaboration spaces and shared areas, with practical recommendations provided for façades, partitions, floors, doors, ceilings and internal finishes. During construction, Allegro Acoustics reviewed contractor proposals, carried out site inspections and provided technical support to ensure the acoustic design intent was maintained through installation.

On completion, acoustic testing was undertaken to verify sound insulation, reverberation and internal ambient noise levels against the project design criteria. The end-to-end acoustic consultancy provided the design and construction teams with continuity from initial design through to final verification, helping deliver comfortable working environments with appropriate levels of privacy and acoustic performance.
