llegro Acoustics was commissioned by MCA Architects to complete a Noise Impact Assessment for a proposed HSE Health Facility in Swords, County Dublin. The assessment was required to evaluate environmental noise from the proposed external mechanical plant and support the developing acoustic design of the facility.
A baseline environmental noise survey was undertaken to establish the existing acoustic environment at representative noise-sensitive locations surrounding the site. The survey data was then used to develop a detailed 3D environmental noise model of the proposed development.
The modelling predicted operational noise from external mechanical plant, including heat pumps and water-heating equipment, at nearby noise-sensitive properties. Where required, Allegro Acoustics developed practical noise-control recommendations and acoustic treatment measures to ensure the proposed plant could operate within the applicable environmental noise criteria.
The completed Noise Impact Assessment provided MCA Architects and the wider design team with clear acoustic criteria and practical mitigation measures to inform the mechanical plant design and support the development of the project.
