Dublin Airport Central is a landmark Grade A office development located beside Dublin Airport, within one of Ireland’s busiest transport hubs. The challenging location required careful acoustic design to control noise from overhead aircraft, road traffic, building services and sound transmission throughout the development.
Allegro Acoustics provided acoustic consultancy services from planning through detailed design, construction and completion. An environmental noise survey was undertaken to quantify noise from overhead aircraft and the surrounding transport network, allowing the building envelope to be designed to achieve appropriate internal noise levels. The appointment also included façade acoustic design, sound insulation design, acoustic design of internal office spaces and assessment of mechanical and electrical services noise. Throughout construction, Allegro Acoustics provided technical reviews, site inspections and post-completion acoustic testing to verify that the completed development achieved the required acoustic performance.
