Lidl Ireland’s headquarters in Tallaght is a 6,500 m² flagship office development designed to achieve BREEAM Excellent. The building includes open-plan offices, meeting and conference rooms arranged around a full-height central atrium.
Allegro Acoustics worked with MCA Architects to develop the acoustic design for the workplace. The strategy was closely integrated with the architecture to retain the openness and visual connectivity of the building while controlling reverberation, speech transfer and distraction between floors.
Detailed room-acoustic and sound-insulation measures were developed for open offices, meeting rooms, conference spaces and shared areas. Particular attention was given to the central atrium, which was designed both as a circulation space and to support public-address use. Acoustic treatments were selected and coordinated to provide suitable speech intelligibility, privacy and occupant comfort without compromising the architectural concept.
The completed design supported the delivery of a high-quality headquarters building that combines a visually open workplace with appropriate acoustic performance across offices, meeting spaces and the central atrium.
