Irish Stock Exchange

Exchequer Street, Dublin 2, Ireland

The Irish Stock Exchange headquarters project involved the refurbishment and extension of its offices on Exchequer Street in Dublin 2. The development combines contemporary open-plan workspaces across three levels with a full-height central atrium and the renovation of parts of the building dating from before 1800.

Allegro Acoustics provided acoustic consultancy for the internal design. Acoustic modelling was used to assess sound propagation through the atrium and interconnected office floors, where the open layout created a risk of noise transfer between work areas. The assessment informed the selection of internal finishes, sound-absorptive treatments and the sound-insulation strategy. Allegro Acoustics worked closely with Henry J Lyons Architects to retain the openness and visual connectivity of the design while supporting speech privacy, concentration and occupant comfort.

The completed acoustic design helped deliver a modern, collaborative workplace within a historic city-centre building, balancing architectural ambition with the practical acoustic requirements of a high-quality office environment.
