Noise Modelling

Environmental and industrial noise modelling for energy, manufacturing, infrastructure and development projects across Ireland.

Allegro Acoustics uses SoundPLAN modelling to predict noise levels, assess plant and equipment, identify significant sources and compare practical noise-control options.

How we can support you

Environmental Noise Modelling

Prediction of environmental noise from proposed or existing plant, infrastructure and development projects.

What we provide

  • Environmental noise propagation modelling
  • Prediction at noise-sensitive receptors
  • Noise contour mapping
  • Planning and EIAR modelling support
  • Existing and future operating scenarios
  • Assessment of cumulative or project scenarios where relevant

Industrial & Plant Noise Modelling

Modelling to understand plant and equipment noise and identify the sources that have the greatest influence at nearby receptors.

What we provide

  • Industrial plant noise modelling
  • Plant and equipment assessment
  • Source contribution analysis
  • Equipment-layout assessment
  • Operating-scenario comparison
  • Identification of dominant noise sources

Noise Control & Mitigation Modelling

Modelling to compare practical noise-control options before equipment, barriers or mitigation measures are installed.

What we provide

  • Acoustic barrier assessment
  • Enclosure performance requirements
  • Silencer attenuation requirements
  • Equipment attenuation requirements
  • Layout and screening options
  • Comparison of mitigation scenarios

Model the options before making the change

Noise modelling allows the project team to predict how plant, equipment and operating scenarios will affect noise levels before committing to design changes or mitigation measures.

Our engineers build the model using available survey data, equipment information, drawings and project inputs, then assess the scenarios that matter to the project.

The results show which sources drive the predicted noise levels and allow barriers, enclosures, silencers, layouts and other noise-control measures to be compared before implementation.

What’s included

  • Modelling scope and assessment criteria agreed at the outset
  • Qualified acoustic engineers, members of the Institute of Acoustics (IOA)
  • Review of available survey, equipment and design information
  • SoundPLAN environmental and industrial noise modelling
  • Scenario comparison and source contribution analysis
  • Clear graphical and technical reporting
  • Practical recommendations to support project decisions

How it works

01

Send us the project information

Tell us about the project and what needs to be predicted or assessed. Drawings, equipment data, survey results and acoustic criteria can be reviewed where available.

02

We define the model

One of our acoustic engineers confirms the modelling scope, inputs, operating scenarios and assessment criteria relevant to the project.

03

We model the scenarios

We develop the SoundPLAN model and assess the plant, operating or mitigation scenarios needed to answer the project requirement.

04

You receive clear results

We present the predicted noise levels clearly and identify the sources or noise-control measures that have the greatest influence on the outcome.

Request a Quote

Send us a brief description of the project and noise-modelling requirement and one of our acoustic engineers will review it and confirm the appropriate scope.
