Betania Church

Betania Church is a 1,500-seat worship and performance venue in Blanchardstown, Dublin. The building was designed to accommodate live music, spoken word, conferences and community events. Achieving excellent speech intelligibility while creating a rich and engaging acoustic environment for music required careful acoustic design from the earliest stages of the project.

Allegro Acoustics worked closely with ACH Architects and the client to establish clear acoustic performance criteria before developing a detailed three-dimensional acoustic model using ODEON Room Acoustics software. The model was used to optimise the room geometry and assess the performance of absorptive, reflective and diffusive finishes. Allegro Acoustics coordinated the acoustic design with the wider design team to ensure the proposed solutions were practical, buildable and fully integrated into the architecture.

The completed venue is both visually striking and acoustically exceptional. Its excellent speech clarity and musical quality allow the space to perform successfully across a wide range of events, while the close integration of architecture and acoustics has created a venue that must be experienced and heard to be fully appreciated.
