The new wastewater treatment plant serving the Diageo Brewery in Newbridge, County Kildare incorporates a range of process and mechanical equipment requiring defined acoustic performance standards. Prior to handover, independent acoustic commissioning was required to verify that the completed installation achieved the contractual noise requirements for the project.
Allegro Acoustics was commissioned by Waterleau (WTL) to provide specialist acoustic consultancy and performance verification for the wastewater treatment plant. The initial phase included a review of the project requirements, development of the acoustic assessment methodology and preparation of a detailed commissioning and testing strategy.
Following completion of the installation, Allegro Acoustics undertook comprehensive on-site noise testing across the wastewater treatment plant. Measurements included individual items of process equipment and occupied areas within the facility, allowing the acoustic performance of the completed installation to be assessed against the project’s contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
The acoustic commissioning provided Waterleau and the wider project team with independent verification of the completed wastewater treatment plant’s noise performance prior to handover and operation.
