Noise Surveys

Planning Noise Surveys

• Conducted in compliance with ISO 1996, our planning noise surveys assess baseline environmental noise levels to support planning applications for projects such as:
  • Residential developments.
  • Energy generation facilities (e.g., peaking plants, solar farms, and wind farms).
  • Industrial sites and data centres.
• Using tools like SoundPLAN, we model noise propagation and provide detailed reports addressing potential noise impacts, ensuring a smooth and efficient planning approval process.

Environmental Noise Surveys for IEL Compliance

• Annual noise surveys are essential for industrial facilities operating under an Industrial Emissions Licence (IEL).
• Adhering to standards such as EPA NG4 Guidance Note for Noise, we measure boundary and noise-sensitive location noise levels and assess compliance with regulatory conditions.

  • Impact Sound Insulation Testing: Performed in accordance with ISO 16283-2 and ISO 717-2, measuring footfall and other impact noise on floors and ceilings.
  • Reverberation Time Testing: Using advanced equipment, we measure and optimise reverberation times in key spaces such as meeting rooms, restaurants, and communal areas.
  • Noise Rating (NR) Testing: Verifying that internal building services meet acceptable noise criteria based on ANC Guidelines.
